ebay, hair, target

I spent a bit of time today on ebay.  Ebay isn't my favorite place to shop because I would rather hunt in a store than online.  Anyways, found a pair of joes jeans.  My last pair of joes cost me over $100, the highest bid on this pair of joes was $2.00.  It eventually got to $4.50 (my bid) when I was supposed to go pick up boyfriend from work. I texted him a couple times to see if he could get a ride, because the auction was coming to an end and I wanted these jeans. He never answered, so I went to pick him up only to find out his phone died.  I lost the jeans at $4.75 because boyfriend has a thunderbolt for a phone.  On a good day his battery will last him 6 hours.  SIX HOURS. Sad, sad little thunderbolt. Bye bye joes.

As some of you know I have been desperately trying to grow my hair out from a pixie, only cutting it in desperate situations involving a mullet.  I straightened it today for the first time in a couple weeks and guess what??? It totally hits my collarbone, in fact it lays a tiny bit on my collarbone.

It's official, I now have what I consider to be shoulder length hair.  YAHOO!

Target has a commercial out that made me laugh so hard I had to rewind (thanks tivo) and watch it again.  Please watch it here.

best tacos ever

Sunday we bopped into the city to meet some friends for the best tacos in SF.  Now, I don't know about best tacos ever because I haven't tried all tacos everywhere, BUT they were the best tacos I have ever had.  I know boyfriend liked them too, because he downed NINE tacos.  Al pastor was my favorite and boyfriend loved the tripe.  (<-- YUCK) This place is a total dive.  There may or may not have been a bird inside eating old food off of one of the tables. Anyways, just as you walk in the door there is a cart to  your left.  That's where you get your food.  If you keep walking there is a nice big menu and they do burritos, tamales, etc.  But from all the reviews on Yelp, that second menu isn't really worth it.  And when you are buying amazing tacos at $1.50 a pop, why even look at the menu?

After lunch we walked down Balmy Street, and it was just mural after mural.  They were all really beautiful, and I am excited to find more streets like this throughout SF.
Eventually we found our way to this nice little bar where we each enjoyed a beer while sitting outside.  Before parting from our friends, they dropped us off at Dolores Park, and unfortunately we only had about 15 minutes to spare here before we headed back to BART.  It has one of the best views of SF, and there are tons of young people here laying out, picnicking, drinking, and napping.  This is now on our list for a lazy Sunday.

friday's letters

Dear Jimmy Fallon,
I love you.  Your awkward and quirky personality is my favorite.  And to this day I refuse to listen/watch any other version of this terrible song.  You made it better.  It's Friday!
ps the bee keeper is always my favorite, he should have been more involved.

Dear boyfriend,
Thanks for finding those job listings last night! All three of those companies would be amazing to work for, and I already sent in my resume and cover letters to all three! Cross your fingers.

Dear taco place in SF,
Don't let us down on Sunday.  Please.  I am in desperate need of a good taco, and I know boyfriend is too.

Dear Greys Anatomy,
I apologize for ignoring you all these years, you are a fantastic show, but I really need you to quit taking over my life.

Dear Sarah,
I miss you and your BABY BOY!!! :) Can Anthony feel the kicks yet? Chat this weekend? Love you.

Dear Tadeo,
Your weekly and sometimes daily texts keep my spirits up.  Thanks for always making me laugh.

Dear me,
Go shower, you just worked out (YAHOO ME) and you stink.

one topic?

One topic per blog just isn't enough for me. I have a few today...

As you all know, I don't have a job.  This means I have not been shopping.  And for those of you who know me really well, you know how difficult of a time I am having with this.  No more clothes, shoes, bags, not even socks.  So lately I have been dreaming a lot on my Pinterest board.  Feel free to check it out and dream yourself, or buy for me! Just kidding.  Or am I? I dream a lot about clothes, so if we have similar styles, please by all means follow me!

I am now on season four of Greys.  Don't judge me.

Hump day didn't go so well for me.  Here's to Thursday and Thursday's list! You know, I used to hate lists, and believe me I have had my fair share.  You can ask my mom, she left one for Evan and I every Saturday, and if we were lucky we got a couple during the week. I have now learned to love the list.  It gives me purpose when I feel I don't have one.
work out
costco trip
watch tv in spanish for one hour
slow cooker meal
dust
finish my book (i got my dream job, so can you)

It's almost Friday! Boyfriend and I plan on checking out what we hear is the best taco place in the bay area.  If it's true then I can cross something off my list, 25 in 25.  Feel free to check out that post here!

Last but not least, my networking friend Stacy, got engaged last week.  We have hung out twice in real life, but always kept up thru facebook and now thru blogging.  I don't really know the boy, but I feel as though I know Stacy pretty well, and he got quite the catch.  Check out their ridiculously sweet and fairy tale love story here, and their engagement story/pics here (you did good Chris!).  Congrats Stacy!

greys anatomy stole my monday

Seriously, before I knew it it was 3pm and I was on season 2 of Greys Anatomy.  Completely wasted a day.

Weekend Update: I spent my Saturday catching up with some family I haven't seen in years! We had a delicious brunch and then of course headed over to the farmers market to pick up our groceries for the week.  Saturday night boyfriend and I moved the mattress into the living room to watch movies all night.  And by all night I mean asleep my midnight.  Sunday I went to my first "meet up" and played volleyball with this in the background.  Really? I live here? This is pretty amazing.

Monday: oops.

Well, now it's Tuesday and I am back to my lists and job hunt. AND I started my morning off right.  A bit of green smoothie, and a bit of Bridesmaids.  It's always good to start your day with a giggle and something that tastes amazing.  What kind of a name is Stove? Are you an appliance?

The List
One hour of spanish.
Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.
Read boyfriends pamphlet from the tech expo I should have gone to.
Find two other companies to love.
Find stir fry recipe for dinner.  LOVE MY WOK

friday's letters

Dear Job Hunt,
Let's go, quit fighting me and let's just go with the flow, yoga style.

Dear Gillian,
So what if you made a decently large mistake?  Learn from it, get over it, and move on.

Dear Evan,
I am sad you have gone back to China, the house is quite lonely without you.

Dear Train Game,
I have no idea what boyfriend and I would do without you to play at night.  Oh, and sorry for always calling you train game as opposed to your real name, Ticket to Ride.

Dear People Not Playing Ticket to Ride,
What are you thinking? Seriously?? Seriously??? Get this game now.  Either the real life version, the ipad/iphone app, or I am pretty sure you can play on your computer... Boyfriend and I have it on our ipads, and we can play each other thru the wifi.  It's pretty amazing.

Dear Etta (my cat),
Just because you proudly pooped in the toilet does not mean you can turn around and pee in my laundry basket.  This makes accident number 4 in the toilet training madness.  Please no more.

Dear Laundry Basket,
Thank you for containing everything Etta gave to you so I didn't have to clean my carpet. I am sorry, but I still have to throw you away.

Dear Tiny Tonks (my other cat),
Thanks for no accidents! YAHOO! I know I am not supposed to say it, but you might be my favorite.

Dear Dream Job,
Are you close? I am patiently waiting while I frantically search for you.

nothing tastes as good as skinny feels?

Everytime I go on Pinterest I am bombarded with thinspiration.  Photos of ridiculously fit girls leading to blogs of how they did it.  Naturally as a woman I click on it to see if there is anything new or groundbreaking about what this girl is doing, and of course there never is.  But I still click on it anyway.  After clicking on the thinspiration I start to feel a bit inadequate. Why do I insist on clicking on this stuff? I know I will never look like these girls, for one it's not in my genes in the leg/butt department, and most importantly, I don't want to.  I don't want to give up certain foods, nor do I want to give up workouts I enjoy for workouts I hate.  My happiness and confidence doesn't and shouldn't come from my body.
I was seeing a counselor for quite some time and there are many things I have taken from our sessions I still use to this day.  One of them is looking at myself in the mirror every morning and smiling.  I know it sounds ridiculous, and you feel strange doing this, but it makes you laugh.  And instantly the chemicals in your brain change.  I feel a huge difference on the days I forget to do this.  Now imagine looking at yourself in the mirror and telling yourself that you are smart, strong, and beautiful, or even just telling yourself what a great day it's going to be.  It's a huge confidence booster.
Everyone has bad days, when their "flaws" feel larger than life, thats when doing the mirror thing is most important.  Have confidence in who you are not just your body.
I am a smart and strong girl, who has a passion for food (kitties too!), and I believe everything in moderation is best for me.  Try and figure out what's best for you, not what society says is best.
Here are a couple photos of things that have assisted in my happiness recently. :)
